Andrew Poppy - The Beating of Wings
Wednesday, 29 March 2017
Andrew Poppy is a composer, musician and record producer with a unique body of work and collaborations. Since its release in 1985 his first album The Beating of Wings (ZTT) has become a classic of British post minimalism. It’s a playful, pulse driven music marrying acoustic sounds and performance with digital technology in a contemporary mix of patterns and textures.
In this special concert 32 Frames, Cadenza, Listening In and The Object is a Hungry Wolf, will be presented in new ways in a specially devised show, performed by Poppy and guest musicians, with lighting by Marty Langthorne and sound design by Fred De Faye.
The performance will also include music recently performed at The Rest is Noise Festival in London and festivals in Turin and Porto.
The performance will feature special guests from Immix Ensemble and from Stealing Sheep (Luciana Mercer)
