Led by the dynamic saxophonist and conductor and featuring some of the very best big band and jazz musicians from across the country, Phil Shotton’s big band brings a tantalising selection of swing music written for and recorded by the great Count Basie Orchestra together with the fabulous vocal talents of Chris James taking on the role of Frank Sinatra. Think ‘Sinatra Live at at the Sands’ and you have an idea of what a treat you’re in for. High energy swinging arrangements from Nelson Riddle, Quincy Jones and others plus exceptional soloists and first rate vocals. All packaged in an informative, exciting and humorous show! 

Phil Shotton is in demand across the country as a jazz saxophonist, big band musician and conductor and regularly performs alongside many national and international jazz artists he has regularly appeared at major jazz festivals, venues and music festivals throughout the country and abroad.

Based in London, Chris James is an up and coming Jazz singer from the UK who has emerged onto the scene as one of the best voices around. A deep, rich tone with power and a soft subtlety reminiscent of the greats.   Chris began performing from the age of 15 and achieved success in his early days with his high school band getting play time on BBC Radio 1, Radio 2 and supporting bands like 'Reef' and 'Basement Jaxx'.
